Turner presented their latest content at their upfront at Madison Square Garden’s Theater in NYC. On the digital side Kevin Reilly, the president of TBS and TNT made two big announcements.
- TBS announced a new four-year deal with Conan O’Brien that will keep his late-night show on TBS through 2022 and will extend the Team Coco brand into digital content, podcasting, gaming, pay TV and live events.
- Super Deluxe, which has quickly grown to average more than 30 million unique users every month on social and recently hit the billion views milestone, will have its own 90-minute interactive, alternative late-night block on TBS called Super Deluxe.
After Samantha Bee hilariously congratulated Reilly on “shattering the glass” for rising up to be a “white male ivy-league graduate” president of a network, he shared the following:
On Team Coco: Has “3.2 billion total YouTube views and that their deal “capitalizes on the success.” This includes their soon to launch stand-up show on Snapchat.”
On Super Deluxe: It has “40 million unique domestic views on social” and that at Facebook’s F8 conference was described as the “gold standard of Facebook live video production.”
TBS, he said, “is creating a virtuous circle,” between TV and digital.
