Netflix France hosted a “The Defenders”-inspired live escape game that streamed on YouTube, Facebook and Periscope and featured four influencers who had to complete a mission with the help of the viewers.
To engage fans of “The Defenders” and at the same time introduce the Marvel series to new viewers, Netflix France and creative agency Biborg created an exciting live event that took place on August 23. ‘The Defenders: L’escape game live’ streamed on Facebook, YouTube and Periscope and featured four French influencers/celebrities that had to master a series-inspired escape room with the help of the viewers.
The event kicked off at 7:30pm with the four influencers dining in the Chinese restaurant Royal Dragon, which is also featured in the series, and introducing themselves to each other and the viewers: YouTuber Mister V, TV host and actress Capucine Anav, freestyle footballer Wassim Ben Sliman, and swimmer Camille Lacourt. The group receives an emergency call from a police officer, who tells them “The Defenders” have been kidnapped and need help. Now working as investigators, the four influencers had one hour to find and combine the clues to complete the mission. The viewers were also encouraged to help and give advice by posting in the comments of the Facebook and YouTube livestreams or using the hashtag #DefendersLive on Twitter/Periscope.
