On June 28th 2017, CANAL+ presented the first-ever Facebook Live stream in which an animated character responded to questions from viewers in real-time. The event starred Tony from the channel’s animated short-form series “Tony Les Animots” and took place on the official CANAL+ Facebook page.
For about 40 minutes, Tony, the series’ young documentary filmmaker who explores and introduces viewers to absurd animals, responded to the viewers’ questions and comments in real-time. The questions were also displayed on screen. However, Tony not only answered the viewers’ question, but also invited them to play games. For example, he showed a series of animals and viewers were challenged to correctly name the animals on the pictures. The viewers who gave the correct answer in the Facebook Live comments won a gift. What the gifts were was not revealed by Tony.
