An interview with AwesomenessTV about their investment in Facebook Watch

Facebook Watch is continuing to become a destination for premiere content. AwesomenessTV added new shows last year including:

Blend Inpremiering today, December 15th, is a fun cooking show that celebrates diversity in the kitchen. It is centered on challenging two participants to blend their favorite dishes into one delicious culinary concoction. Sometimes it works and sometimes…. well….ew. Watch new episodes of Blend In every Friday.

Pop Experiment, premiering December 16th, features recent Yale grad Olivia Pavco-Giaccia as she questions pop culture myths using her science expertise. From Taylor Swift-themed obstacles courses to Wonder Woman armbands, anything currently trending is worthy of a Pop Experiment! Watch new episodes of Pop Experiment every Saturday.

Found Remote interviewed Sherry Liu, the VP Business Development & Strategy at AwesomenessTV to learn more about their investment in the new platform.

Found Remote: Why did AwesomenessTV bring new shows to Facebook Watch?
Sherry Liu: Our audience is always looking for new content featuring topics and talent that are relevant to them. Facebook Watch is a great place for content to not only be discovered but also shared. It also allows us to program to our fans in a new way, giving them a fresh experience.

FR: Why do you think the Facebook Watch platform is worth investing in?
SL: Facebook Watch has all the benefits of Facebook as a platform and also allows us to build a community and engage with our audience. We’re always looking for ways to build and strengthen the relationship with our fans.

FR: Are these shows exclusive to FW? If so, how are they built for that audience?
SL: The shows premiere on Facebook and are exclusive for a period of time. The shows are built for our Facebook audience because they are bitesize episodes (less than 10 minutes each) highlighting topics that they can relate to – texting a crush, cooking with friends, and even how science fits into your daily life – featuring talent that our fans love.
